hey guys.. just wondering if i could request a layout? i dunno if that's allowed here i got yelled at at the last community i asked for help in. -_-

i just really want it to look mostly like mine does now. only like with a different header. i wanna use this picture:

http://img136.imageshack.us/img136/9568/butterflyl.jpg

as far as colors, i'm pretty open as long as it stays within the scheme. oh, and i'd also like to be able to write something in the top thingy where it says what page you're on. (make sense?)

if i'm allowed i'd really appreciate it ♥

Julie Taymor’s Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark hasn’t had the easiest time making it to the Broadway stage. On paper, it would seem to have everything going for it: a big budget, one of theatre’s brightest directors, songs written by Bono and the Edge, and a cast that’s had Evan Rachel Wood and Alan Cumming attached. Still, the show was hit hard by hiatus last month — and then there was the little matter of casting Peter Parker. Taymor’s Across the Universe lead Jim Sturgess had participated in readings and workshops, but he never officially signed on. Who did Taymor have in mind for the role, if anyone?

While I was talking today to Bright Star’s talented Ben Whishaw (the full chat will be coming to Movieline next week), we landed on the topic of Taymor, who directed him in her upcoming adaptation of The Tempest. As the actor discussed her, suddenly the thought crossed my mind: Whishaw himself is bookishly handsome, has a theatrical background, and has sung in roles before (including one scene in Bright Star). Surely Taymor approached him to play Peter Parker at some point?

So I asked. And, pay dirt.

“She did, yes!” Whishaw said. “She did ask me to speak to her about it.”

Still, despite Taymor’s vote of confidence, Whishaw wasn’t sure he’d be right for the role. “I don’t feel confident enough as a singer,” he admitted, though he has nothing but praise for Taymor’s methods.

“She’s working at a very furious pace. You almost have the sense that she could do anything on a project: she could act in it, she could light it, she could design it, she could direct it. She’s working at a real speed, and you’ve either got to be up to her speed or lag behind. I like that kind of challenge.”

Certainly, a Spider-Man musical would have posed a very different challenge than the sedate Bright Star. “Yeah,” Whishaw said, laughing. “And maybe not a bad one! I’d love to do a play or something with her, or even another type of musical. I’m just not a strong enough vocalist for Spider-Man.”

Thank Baby Jesus he said no holy shit. The role has been cast now, though - Reeve Carney got the part and I think he'll be awesome.

For people who went to the Boston show 10/19, has anyone seen a video of Hayley receiving the drawing of her from a fan in the crowd? Or do you remember between what songs it was given? I have been looking on YouTube and have had no luck :(

For my English class I had to write a review about something, so I chose to review the Paramore concert :). It is a very positive review, and we need a 5 minute presentation backing up the review we wrote. So I wanted to show a clip of Hayley saying thanks for the drawing and whatnot. If anyone has any other videos from the show that they think are worth showing feel free to post them. I have one for the Miracle Outro, Misguided Ghosts, and the end BBBB (I found a good one of Hayley on her knees passionately.. I wanted to show Josh on his but it just doesn't come off as passionately. I found a good one for Misguided Ghosts where Hayley took out her earplug, and the BBBB one is to show the insane crowd)

Also, kind of OT, but for the videos I found they are of the whole song (except BBBB). Does anyone know if there is any way to cut certain parts out (say 20 second clip) and then put the clips you cut out into one video? If that makes sense. I just really want to show / prove the talent Paramore has, but because it is a five minute presentation getting to the right spots and waiting for the videos to load probably won't work out. I thought I'd check with you guys to see if anyone knew because I know some of you are really talented with computer-related things.

I hate asking for things, sorry =/. I'd really appreciate any help or input though :)

A fellow fan at the TrekBBS message board posted the first scans from the upcoming hardcover book Star Trek The Art of the Film by Titan Books, on sale November 17th. You can see the sketches artwork for Starfleet Academy, the Orion cadet Gayla, the new U.S.S. Enterprise exterior and interior, the damaged USS Kelvin and even Klingon cruisers.

You can find larger versions of those images at the TrekBBS

Hello! I've been commenting on paramoremusic and paramoreband for a while, and I have actually posted here before, but I thought I should introduce myself properly(ish) so I'm not that creepy random person who comments all the time, ha.

I'm Siobhan and I'm from New Zealand.
I've been a Paramore fan since Misery Business came out, which is when I first heard of them.

Hayley just responded to me in her latest post about what humbles you, and it totally made my day cos she's never replied to me before.
Yes, I am a dork, haha.

Hope to get to know some of you :D

Hi. It's my friend's birthday today, and we're having a small party tomorrow. She asked me to make her a pecan pie, and I've heard her and my dad say a good pecan pie should have a shortbread crust. I've looked at this thread: http://community.livejournal.com/bakebakebake/2450545.html and various tips throughout BakeBakeBake and I haven't seen any mention of a shortbread crust. Most just say 'one pre-made unbaked crust'. Is the shortbread crust just how people THINK it tastes, or is there a way to make a crust from crushed shortbread/ baked in place like how lemon-bars are? I'm a bit confused by this possibilit, but would like some input. It's my first time trying to make a pecan pie ^^;

piled and sparkly. by you.

I just seem to be under a cloud of bad luck in the past week or so. I won’t waste time by divulging sad details, but the thought of Christmas being less than 8 weeks away has been a definite comfort, since it really is the most wonderful time of the year to me. Endless baking, being with my family, Bing Crosby on repeat… it’s just a happy time. And although I should be focused on Thanksgiving and that menu in the near future, I can’t get Christmas off my mind, or the classic flavor of gingerbread, which is so quintessentially Christmas to me. So I looked through my “To Cook” list I have posted on my fridge (it’s long, trust me) and saw these way down near the bottom.

I love gingersnaps but most of the time end up playing with recipes to make them, well, less snappy. I’ve always been a fan of those “extra soft” versions of store-bought chocolate chip cookies (it’s practically like eating raw cookie dough, mm) so the idea of a soft ginger cookie piqued my interest quite a bit. Also because they have two very unconventional ingredients in them: molasses and Dijon mustard. I know, I know, most people are going to scrunch up their face and say “WHY?” but trust me when I tell you – it adds this smoky, mysterious flavor layer to the cookies that gives it an extra zing without tasting at all like actual mustard.

Tons more pics and info at my blog, jonesing for...

Seriously. Go read it. And then just try to tell me it's not total bullshit.

This just goes to show that Twitlighters not only can't read good books, but can't count either. *Headdesk*
